Calling to verify your benefits is a good idea before our first appointment just to make sure you know exactly what will and won’t be covered. 

Use the script below to guide your call with your insurance company:

  1. With whom am I speaking and call reference number? (Getting this information is a good idea in case problems arise).

  2. What is my copay/coinsurance for a specialist with in-network benefits and with out-of-network benefits? Is this subject to deductible?

  3. What is my copay/coinsurance for lab work?

  4. What is my annual family deductible and annual individual deductible? Have I met my deductible yet? (your insurance often will not start paying until you meet your deductible).

  5. Do I have coverage for naturopathic doctor services?

  6. Do I have out-of-network benefits?

  7. Is there a maximum number of visits per year or other limitations for naturopathic medicine?

  8. Does my plan require a prior authorization for naturopathic medicine?

  9. Does my plan cover telehealth visits?
